Vacation Bible School Rocks!

OK.  We just finished what is arguably the awesomest week of the year at Clough Pike Baptist Church:  Vacation Bible School Week!  Clough goes all-out for VBS each year, with just about everybody working in it in some way or another.   I was blessed to head the 2 and 3 year old class this year, and was doubly blessed to work with Stacy Sullivan and Karen Klick, who shared my passion for teaching this age group.

Some folks unfortunately underestimate the effect that good Bible teaching has on toddlers and preschoolers; but I ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE that these little ones can learn.  Example?  My husband was saved at a Vacation Bible School when he was three years old, which is the same age as little Maya, below.

One of the funniest things that happened in the week was when we were doing sidewalk chalk for recreation, and the kids insisted that we outline them in chalk.  They thought it was so cool when they stood-up and saw themselves in chalk!  The adults all laughed that our recreation area looked like a crime scene once we were done.  :)
