Yet Another Cool Thing About Being A Preacher's Kid

Tim and I are always telling our children how awesome it is to live as a pastor's family, to devote our lives to the work of God and to His people. Another example? We can sweet-talk the drummer into letting our kids try out the drums when they're curious about how to play them. Thanks Daryl Gilliland!!!!

Waning Days of Having Anna at Home

As hard as it is to believe, after having children with me at home for 10 years, I am down to my last months of having at least one with me all the time: in just a few months, Anna Jean will be in Kindergarten. I am savoring every book I read her on my lap, every cookie we bake together, and all of our adventures with baby dolls. Soon enough, she'll be hopping-off to school with a backpack on her back, little girlfriends that she talks about all the time, and homework that needs done. I snapped these pictures on Tim's day off not long ago, when God gave us a warm enough afternoon to hit the park.

The Karate Kids

Christopher and John were invited to karate "Buddy Day" by their friend Jake at the local Dojo: they were hooked! Next thing we knew, we were signing-up for lessons and sizing them for gis. If you watch all three of the following videos, you will have earned a video yellow belt. :D

Happenings at Clough

Tim and I had the priveledge of teaching Anna's pre-school Sunday School class this week.  We always consider it a priveledge to work with our youngest members.  Few things in life are as exciting as teaching someone a story from the Bible that they've never heard before.  (And I have to admit....I get a kick out of seeing my seminary-educated husband trying to work a flannelgraph board!)
