Crowder's Mountain News Story

How exciting!  While we were hiking at Crowder's Mountain today, the Charlotte CBS affiliate interviewed us for the 6:00 for a story they were doing about the heat.  The kids were thrilled that we were on TV!  Here's are the links to the video and the article:

Guitar Concert

Christopher and John recently had their 1st guitar concert and it was GREAT!  Their teacher, David Edwards, played along, and he even let Anna join in for a song.  Fantastic job, boys!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!

There is NO PLACE that celebrates Independence Day like Faith, North Carolina does!  Our celebration goes on for an entire week, and it is chock-full of happy things...

My favorite part of the celebration is our community 4th of July service, which is always held at our church.  Above, Tim prays at the service.

 ...And then there's the FAIR!

Tim's favorite part of the fair is when our church folks gather in a shelter and hand-out free Bibles.  Also, he and several members walk the fair and witness to people.  This year, we saw one lady - a mother of a 9 month old baby - trust Christ in the park during the fair.  Praise the Lord!

But the biggest thing of all is the Faith 4th of July parade.  It's one of the biggest in North Carolina!

This year, Tim came-up with the idea of handing-out water bottles to the parade watchers, who number about 6,000.  We gathered coolers, ice, and 3,000 water bottles.
We filled the coolers, and put them on wagons and carts.
The 30 volunteers were designated zones on the parade route.
And then we set loose on the parade!  It was so much fun, handing-out free water bottles and VBS invitations!

After we finished our work, we parked at our friends Cindy and Gary Cline's house to watch the parade.  One of our church members even hooked Tim up with his own personal air-conditioning, because he had been working so hard!
And we concluded the 4th celebration with fireworks, which were set-off at Faith Elementary.  We had the perfect seat on the yard of our church...
